Traditional Banks Cannot Help SMEs – Alternative Sources Step In

After the economic crisis which began in 2008, banks have become reluctant in lending to small and medium enterprises, despite the fact that these businesses are the largest cogs in the wheel. As a result, SMEs are not getting access to the finance they need to thrive.

On the contrary, however, funding options that are currently open to SMEs have never been more diverse.

The alternative finance industry is better equipped to assist SMEs, but there is a lack of awareness among SMEs about the options available, especially in Hong Kong.
